Fort Sheridan Golf Course Committee to Meet

Lake County Board of Commissioners passes around the decision regarding Fort Sheridan like it is a hot potato.
Lake County Board of Commissioners passes around the decision regarding Fort Sheridan like it is a hot potato.

In this continuing game of Hot Potato, the Lake County Forest Preserve Board, which closely resembles the Lake County Board of Commissioners, has tossed the controversial proposed Fort Sheridan Golf Course to an ad hoc advisory committee with the distinguished handle of Fort Sheridan Master Plan Advisory Committee.  Their first meeting will be held 6:30 PM on December 2 at Oak Terrace School, 240 Prairie Avenue, Highwood.  (Map)

The committee’s purpose is to evaluate alternatives to the proposed golf course and make recommendations to the Forest Preserve Board (Lake County Board members). Because the committee includes the 10th Congressional District Office, we expect candidates for this office to be attending this meeting to get a grasp of the issues.

The Lake County Forest Preserve has indicated that an Open House will be scheduled to provide for the public to discuss options the committee is considering.  Additionally, you are invites to submit your public comments by email to Fort@LCFPD.org. Your email should include your name, address and phone number.
